Project Overview
The City of Baxter is considering improvements to various roadway segments within the municipal limits as part of the City of Baxter’s ongoing pavement management program. Commercial roadways are scheduled for maintenance improvements in 2025. Roadways being considered for improvements are shown below. Construction Schedule
Construction is starting Tuesday, September 2. Our construction observer, Avery Mulholland, has gone around and talked with everyone she could about the start of construction. She will be on-site when the contractor is on-site. If you see her out there and have questions, please feel free to wave her down and she will assist you as best she can. If you can’t find her on site, please feel free to reach out to me with all questions or concerns.
Next week, 9/1-9/5, the contractor will be completing the removals. The roadway will be ground up and re-compacted. The road will be soft and difficult to drive on for a short period of time, then it will be compacted and the road will be similar to driving on a gravel road. The entrances to the businesses will be removed to approximately the right-of-way line. They will be ramped with gravel to maintain access.
If anyone has sprinklers, please mark them with a small flag or paint so the contractor knows where they are. If any get damaged, they will be repaired. You do not need to call your own irrigation company to come fix them. If you do, that cost is not reimbursable. We will utilize our contractor to repair the sprinklers.
