Widseth’s Mankato office recently hosted 28 students and faculty from South Central College’s Building and Design programs for a hands-on learning experience. Students from the Architectural Drafting & Design, Geographic Information Systems, and Civil Engineering Technology programs explored how Widseth serves clients throughout the Greater Mankato area, Southern Minnesota, and the Midwest.

The visit featured interactive stations highlighting civil engineering and surveying, aerial mapping and GIS, and vertical design through architecture and engineering. Students also learned how Widseth’s integrated design approach brings together 18 disciplines across multiple market sectors and opportunities in all 13 of our offices.
Our 95West Aerial Mapping solutions were highlighted through three-dimensional images.
Highlights included viewing three-dimensional project imagery from 95West and learning how Bridge Plaza in downtown Mankato was designed and constructed. Widseth frequently hosts South Central College students and is proud to employ many program alumni across multiple offices.
Widseth’s survey team also had hands-on learning outside to identify property boundaries.
