Community leaders, project partners, and local stakeholders gathered in Pequot Lakes on August 25 to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Bobber Inn & Suites. This is an important milestone for the Patriot Development area. The new hotel will become a Trademark Collection by Wyndham property and is expected to serve as a catalyst for additional investment and economic growth in the region.
Developed by Monty Jensen and Level Contracting, the 69-room hotel will be located along Larson Parkway near Highway 371 and the Paul Bunyan State Trail. The project represents a major development within the city’s 80-acre Patriot Development area, a site community leaders have worked to position for future growth.
During the ceremony, Jensen spoke about the vision behind the project and the opportunity to create a destination that reflects the character of Pequot Lakes. Designed around the community’s iconic “Bobber” identity, the hotel will offer guests a welcoming experience that complements the area’s tourism economy.

When complete, Bobber Inn & Suites will feature a variety of amenities expected by today’s travelers, including a lobby bar, indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, and modern guest accommodations. The hotel is intended to provide visitors with a comfortable and affordable lodging option while supporting local businesses, attractions, and recreational opportunities throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area.
Pequot Lakes Mayor Tyler Gardner highlighted the significance of the project for the community, noting that the hotel’s design fits naturally within the area’s character and aligns with the city’s long-term vision for development. Community leaders see the project as an important step toward attracting additional businesses and investment to the Patriot Development area while strengthening the local tourism economy.

The hotel is anticipated to open in the middle of 2027. Once complete, Bobber Inn & Suites will serve visitors exploring the lakes region while contributing to the continued growth and vitality of Pequot Lakes and the surrounding communities.
