After years of pursuing federal funding, Waseca County officially broke ground on its new Community Services Building on September 24.

Designed by Widseth, the approximately $3 million project will create a centralized workforce development facility where students, job seekers, and working professionals can access training, continuing education, and industry certifications.

More than two-thirds of the project funding, $2.1 million, was secured through federal grants after years of advocacy and planning. The groundbreaking ceremony brought together bipartisan support with federal, state, and local elected officials who helped advance the project.

When complete, the facility will serve as a hub for workforce training programs, partner organizations, and approximately 50 part-time instructors.
