Widseth’s Mike Angland was surprised at work on December 21st by Brainerd Mayor Dave Badeaux who announced that he was selected as the 2022 Citizen of the Year. This award has been around for nearly 50 years and honors individuals who go above and beyond in the community. Candidates are nominated and the winner is chosen by a selection committee comprised of members of the community, past award winners, and the Brainerd Community Action Board of Directors.

“I’m very humbled to receive this award,” said Mike. “I think it is a testament to where I work. Widseth has always encouraged all of us to be involved in our communities. We try to help out in any way that we can. I feel as though our company has done a nice job fostering that type of work ethic.”
Mayor Badeaux praised Mike for his community involvement, including helping nonprofits and pro bono work for various organizations. “We’re really, really proud to have you represent us.”
