Widseth proudly honors the service and sacrifice of all veterans. Across the Midwest, we have partnered with numerous communities to design and develop meaningful veterans memorials that serve as lasting tributes.
In 2023, the Mower County Veterans Memorial group selected Widseth to lead improvements to the memorial site in Austin, MN. Our team began the process with a community engagement event alongside the Veterans Society of Austin, MN. During this session, key concerns were identified, including site maintenance challenges, worn pavers, and the need for a more inviting atmosphere.
The design challenge was using their existing and new pavers to re-envision the memorial, making the pavers more visible and requiring less maintenance. By creating an angled, raised frame, the Memorial now has double the capacity, is easier to read, and prevents anyone from stepping on the engraved names of the memorial pavers.
To support fundraising efforts, Widseth delivered plans and renderings that helped bring the project to life for donors. Widseth is honored to contribute to a space that reflects gratitude and respect for those who served.
