Welcome to episode four in our FDR Series, which covers each phase of a full-depth reclamation project during construction. Full-depth reclamation is a road construction technique that recycles and reuses the existing pavement to create a stronger base for the new road. Episode four covers the process of placing the curb and gutter, and paving the roadway. Once the curb is in place and cured, the contractor will prepare the roadway for the first lift of bituminous. This project included three separate lifts to get the roadway to the correct elevation. Stay tuned for the final episode in our FDR Series where we’ll discuss seeding, landscaping, and striping.
