Widseth is a sponsor of the 2025 CityArt Walking Sculpture Tour. CityArt is a community collection of 32 sculptures selected by a committee from artists around the country. They are placed on sidewalks and park spaces throughout downtown Mankato and North Mankato. New sculptures are featured each year.
This is the fourth year Widseth is a sponsor for CityArt. Our sponsored sculpture for 2025 is Ripple Effects, by James & Ryan Pedersen from Mankato. The welded and cut steel sculpture was inspired by the sights and sounds of a summer day by a quiet brook, watching the flowing water rolling over small stones, gently moving the sand and pebbles into new pathways and designs.
The new sculptures were installed last weekend and welcomed with a CityArt Kick-Off party, tours, arts activities, music, and time with the artists to talk about their works.
Eric Lennartson, a Marketing Specialist at Widseth’s office in Mankato, is on the CityArt committee. Part of his responsibility of being on the committee, besides helping select the sculptures, is to do the actual installation of the sculptures and support other arts and placemaking activities throughout the year. Eric also led tours as part of the CityArt Kick-Off party festivities.
