Construction Updates

10/5/2026

  • The concrete curb and gutter is taking longer than they expected and they did not start until Thursday because of the rain earlier in the week.
  • The contractor finished the curb and gutter on Saturday on Edna Lake Road. Concrete driveway aprons and grading the street will be completed after the curb and gutter.
  • The concrete curb and gutter construction are moving to Edna Lane and/or Roy Lane on Monday. They believe they will be done with curb and gutter on Wednesday. Hopefully, this means all concrete work.
  • The Contractor cut the communication line on Roy Lane at about station 296+00. The house on the east side of the road is without service. The Contractor notified the appropriate people to get it repaired. The property owner is aware of the problem and notified Charter/Spectrum.

9/25/2026

  • Concrete curb and gutter will begin on Edna Lake Road Wednesday September 30, 2026, with the completion of concrete work on all roads on Saturday October 3, 2026.
  • The contractor plans to work on Saturday October 3, 2026.  They will let us know which roads they will be working on Saturday after they get started.
  • Concrete work like bituminous paving is weather dependent.
  • Concrete driveway aprons and driveways will occur during this time.
  • Typically, cannot drive on the concrete until after a few days to allow the concrete to strengthen.
  • After the concrete work is complete the contractor will place aggregate base.
  • Paving will follow on October 12, 2026.

9/8/2026
Anderson Brothers will begin reclaiming on Edna Lake Road on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, for the 2026 Nisswa Street Improvement Project.

The utility companies have been notified of the road work that is underway and are working to prevent outages. If you have any questions about your internet, power, gas, or phone service, or experience an outage please contact your utility company as this is the fastest way to get your questions answered or restore your service.  There are no planned outages at this time, however, they may occur unexpectedly if a line should be hit during construction activity. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Questions regarding drainage, paving, mailboxes, or trees should be directed to Tom Blomer at City Hall 218-961-4244.

Grading work will begin on Roy Lane as early as 8/12/2026.  Utility relocation work is possible in this area.

Work on East Roy Lake Rd, Kander Court, Lendee Drive, and Sumac Trail is expected to begin by 8/17/2026. You will see staking by Widseth’s survey personnel 1st, followed by any necessary tree clearing by Young Excavating. Utility relocation work is possible in these areas.

Again, thank you for your patience and understanding while road improvements are underway.
