Widseth’s Dan McInnis, PhD, PG, has successfully passed the examinations and met the education and experience requirements to become a Professional Geologist licensed by the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design (AELSLAGID).

Prior to joining Widseth in 2022, Dan held positions as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Minnesota, visiting/adjunct faculty member at several smaller colleges and universities, and in the private sector as a field technician and environmental consultant. He has completed Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, remedial investigations, and hydrogeologic studies at project sites throughout the Upper Midwest and Great Plains. His experience includes preparation of environmental review documents; monitoring well installation and aquifer testing; field screening and sampling of environmental media (soil, water, and air/vapor); data management and reporting; conceptual site model development; and application of direct sensing techniques.

With his newly acquired license, Dan will take on expanded responsibilities, including serving as a project geologist, providing technical oversight and mentoring, supporting regulatory compliance, and continuing to deliver high-quality environmental and geoscience services to our clients.
