A testament to the power of collaboration, the new roundabout at the intersection of CSAH 77 and Nokomis Avenue stands as a shining example of what can be achieved when different entities come together with a shared vision. Crow Wing County, the City of Nisswa, and Grand View Lodge joined forces to address the safety concerns of pedestrians, cyclists, and golf cart users who regularly navigate the busy county highway between Grand View Lodge and The Pines golf course. Watch the video below to hear Nisswa City Administrator Jenny Max discuss the benefits of the new roundabout project.
With the completion of the roundabout, not only has safety been greatly enhanced, but the community now enjoys a direct connection to the expansive Minnesota Department of Natural Resources’ recreational multi-use trail system. Residents and visitors can seamlessly transition from the county highway to the serene trails, immersing themselves in the beauty of nature while enjoying their preferred mode of transportation.
Widseth provided land surveying, civil engineering services, and developed a dedicated webpage with regular updates and information that kept everyone in the loop. The webpage included a link to an on-site camera that allowed viewers to witness the progress in real-time. This interactive platform not only fostered a sense of excitement and anticipation but also enabled the community to actively participate in the project.
